HIGHLAND ANGUS
Welcome to Highland Angus!
We are building a select herd of registered Angus cattle based on "stacked" genetics, performance EPDs, with solid phenotype and carcass traits from long standing cow families. At Highland Angus, we utilize an embryo
program featuring leading EPD registered Angus donor cows and top A.I. sires.
Anchoring our donor lineup are Monarch Blackbird R730 and her five daughters, all out of the $520,000 world record-valued Davis YR Blackbird 558H line, a longtime breed leader for carcass traits where she served as a
valued foundation donor for both Deer Valley Farm and Riverbend Ranch.
AC ELGA U67 is the only known AMF NHF daughter of CA Future Direction 5321 and Stevenson Elga L706, a $40,000 valued Stevenson Basin donor, outside the Stevenson Program. She is a full sister to the $102,000 valued
high adjusted IMF score bull, STEVENSON BENCHMARK N190. AC Elga U67 exhibits many of the fine qualities found in this Stevenson bloodline, early breed up, excellent milk production while maintaining body weight, desireable frame size, high calving ease, and very low
maintenance.
Monarch Miss Blacklass T323 is from the Blacklass GAR 103 Family, known for producing several important Angus sires, GAR Sleep Easy 1009, and GAR Prediction. She is sired by SS Objective T510 0T26, recording an
individual birth ratio of 94 combined with individual weaning and yearling ratios of 104 and 109, respectively, along with individual IMF and RE ratios of 115 and 111, respectively, as her dam's first natural calf
in the AHIR program.
We have several descendents of Woodhill Evergreen 130, a high EPD flush sister to the $200,000 world-record-selling Woodhill Evergreen 120. Baldridge Evergreen R90 is an outstanding daughter of Highline Right Time 338
and stems from a direct daughter of the foundation Baldridge Brothers and Callaway Angus donor, Evergreen 130 by the Pathfinder Sire, Ambush 1531. This direct daughter of Hyline Right Time 338 goes back to the
Pathfinder great-grandam, GT Miss Traveler 58, on the bottom side. The combination of AAR New Trend and Pathfinder Sire N Bar Emulation EXT, N Bar Primrose 2424, back to the featured Woodhill Evergreen 130,
GT Treasure 120, and GT Miss Traveler 58, offers a fault-free pedigree.
Schafer N5259 Jackie Y159 is from the G A R Objective 1885 family, known for producing several important Angus sires, G A R Quannah 687L, G A R Prophet, and her sire, G A R 5050 New Design N5259.
Schafer N5259 Jackie Y159 is currently a donor at Hoffman and Silverias Bros Ranch. Schafer Ranch retains Y159's Dam, J3R Predestined G225 8325, two full sisters, and two daughters by G A R Progress.
Highland Angus retains four full sisters to Jackie Y159, and three full sisters to 8325.
Learn more about Dale at dalebjackson.com. See a video interview covering Greg's history in the cow industry at Select Sires Greg Schafer Interview. It has been wonderful to have these two great mentors from the Angus Industry to help us along the way!
Highland Angus also has the remaining embryo siblings of 8325, and all remaining semen of N5259. The breeder of Y159 and her dam, Dale Jackson, is retired from the cattle business, and is now an award winning author of Western Novels. The cow family is named after the originator of this line. Schafer N5259 Jackie Y159 has been ranked as the number two non-parent cow for $B, and her two daughters have been rank number 2 and 3 respectively for $B and number 1 for marbling.
These and other young donors in our herd with G A R Precision 2536, DRMCTR 1I1 Rita 6108, N Bar Primrose 2424, G A R Objective 1885, and Davis YR Blackbird 558H ancestory provide a tremendous future for our ET program.
